For more than two centuries, the Priory Inn has carried a name that hints at monks, rituals and holy ground… yet no priory ever stood here. Instead, the truth is far stranger. The Inn sits on land once known for shipwrecks, wandering lights, and travellers who claimed the cliffs whispered after dark. Its old tourelle staircase, uneven floors and thick granite walls have seen generations pass through — some leaving with stories they refused to repeat.

Locals spoke of footsteps on empty landings, voices rising from closed rooms, and shadows that moved long before electricity ever reached St Mary. Even today, staff and visitors report sudden cold pockets, flickers of movement, and the unsettling feeling that someone is standing just behind them.

Hidden within Jersey’s coastal defences, Strongpoint Corbière stands as a reminder of the island’s dark years under German Occupation. Built as part of the extensive fortifications constructed during the Second World War, this historic site offers a fascinating glimpse into Jersey’s wartime past. On Saturday 24th October, the Jersey Paranormal Investigation Society (JPIS) invites you to join us for an evening of exploration, experimentation and paranormal investigation at this intriguing location.

Working alongside our experienced team, you will have the opportunity to explore the unexplained using a combination of modern paranormal equipment and traditional investigative methods. From spirit communication experiments to monitoring electronic equipment for unusual responses, we will investigate the location and see what, if anything, makes its presence known.

Will we hear unexplained knocks in the darkness? Could our equipment register something we cannot see? Might a question receive an unexpected response?

At Strongpoint Corbière, previous investigations have produced intriguing moments, including unexplained knocks, equipment responses and unusual observations. While no two investigations are ever the same, these experiences leave plenty of questions worth exploring.

This Halloween, the Jersey Paranormal Investigation Society (JPIS) invites you to join us for a chilling night of paranormal investigation at Batterie Moltke, one of Jersey’s historic German Occupation fortifications.

Built during the Second World War, Batterie Moltke stands as a reminder of Jersey’s dark and turbulent past. Its imposing concrete defences, underground passages and military structures provide a fascinating setting for an evening of exploration, history and the unexplained.

But when darkness falls and the silence settles, could there be more to this historic location than meets the eye?

A Night of History, Mystery and the Unexplained

Join the experienced JPIS team as we investigate Batterie Moltke using a combination of modern paranormal equipment and traditional investigative techniques. You will have the opportunity to take part in a range of experiments designed to explore possible paranormal activity and discover what, if anything, may be lurking beyond our understanding.
